About Giles Heating and Air
Giles Heating and Air is a family-owned HVAC company founded in Athens, Tennessee in 2005 by Shane Giles. Shane runs the field work and his wife Ashley runs the office. The company serves homes and businesses across McMinn, Bradley, Meigs and Polk counties with heating and air repair, new system installation, maintenance, gas line work, water heaters, ductwork, gas logs and geothermal systems.
How Shane got into heating and air
I am Shane Giles, owner of Giles Heating and Air. I have been doing heating and air work since my early twenties, and I got into it almost by accident.
I grew up in South Florida. After school I was bouncing between jobs and could not find something that felt like a career. There was a heating and air company in my parents' neighborhood that was hiring, so I stopped in and talked to the owner. He gave me a shot. It turned out I had a knack for it. I liked fixing units, figuring out what was wrong, meeting new people every day, and not being stuck behind a desk.
Why we are in Tennessee
My wife Ashley and I moved to Southeast Tennessee to raise our family somewhere with the kind of God-fearing, hard-working community I was raised in. I started Giles Heating and Air in 2005 with one truck and a lot of phone calls. Twenty years later most of our work still comes from customers telling their neighbors about us.
How we run the business
A few things have not changed since the first year.
I give 110% on every job.
That means showing up when we say we will, explaining what is wrong in plain language, and not walking away until the system is right.
We do the whole job.
New installs come with a new pad, a new thermostat, proper weather protection, a 10-year parts warranty and a year of maintenance. We follow your city's building code even when nobody is going to check.
We answer the phone.
Ashley handles the office and scheduling, and customers know her by name. If it is late on a Friday or a Saturday morning and your heat is out, call anyway.
