Gas logs and fireplaces
Turning a wood-burning fireplace into a gas one is one of the more satisfying jobs we do. No wood to haul, no ash, heat at the flip of a switch. We install:
- Vented gas log sets in existing masonry fireplaces (realistic flame, damper stays open)
- Vent-free gas log sets and inserts (more heat, no chimney needed, must be sized for the room)
- Gas fireplace inserts with blowers
- Remote controls and wall switches
- The gas line, shutoff and key valve
We also repair existing gas logs: pilot will not stay lit, thermocouple and thermopile failures, clogged burners, remote and valve problems, and relighting after a gas interruption.
Gas heaters
Vented and vent-free gas wall heaters and free-standing room heaters are a practical way to heat a garage, workshop, cabin, sunroom or an addition that the main system does not reach. We sell and install them, run the gas line, and service them each fall.

Vent-free appliances are legal in Tennessee but have room size and clearance requirements, and they should never be used as the only heat source in a bedroom. We size and place them correctly and install a carbon monoxide detector if you do not have one.

Can you convert my wood fireplace to gas?
Yes, with a vented or vent-free log set and a gas line to the firebox.
What is the difference between vented and vent-free gas logs?
Vented logs look more like a real fire but send most of the heat up the chimney. Vent-free logs put nearly all the heat into the room and do not need a chimney, but have room-size limits.
My gas logs will not stay lit. What is wrong?
Usually the thermocouple or thermopile. Both are quick repairs.
